It has been a few months since I have posted to my blog because I have been getting sorta lax and posting only to facebook. I’ve always had intentions of keeping my blog posts updated, but somehow the weeks and months go by and I realize I haven’t posted. BOO! I am honestly going to try and do better ~ as a matter of fact, that is one of my goals for this upcoming year. I plan to just post to my blog, and then I can have it roll over to facebook. However, the purpose of this post isn’t to get hung up on what I need to do differently, or how I’m gonna show my sneak peeks from now on.

The purpose of this post is to introduce you to a sweet family that has three adorable, little girls each with their own set of amazing blue eyes! I had a ton of fun photographing them all separately, and then attempting to photograph them together!

It was so nice to meet another new family! Thank you Becky for reminding me that there are people out there who live a less “cluttered” life and don’t succumb to the perils of social networking!

When I started this session, I had different ideas for the shots that I wanted to get. Shooting 6 month old babies is so much fun for me. I love this age because they are so smiley and interactive, yet, they can’t quite escape the scene! We started out with Miss Grace being exactly that – smiley/smiley, but then there was an incident of me putting her in a little crate that made her mad. She couldn’t seem to get past it! She kept following me with her eyes around the room, and anytime I tried to talk to her, she would protest! And sad to say, I wasn’t able to win her back over before she conked out on her mama’s shoulder. It would have been so easy to just pack up and try again another day, but instead I chose to persevere and switch gears. I was able to capture some sweet shots of her and her beautiful mama. I’m so glad that I didn’t put the camera away, and I’m thankful that her mom was able to switch gears with me.

Thanks, Gretchen for trusting me to capture some sweet mommy/daughter images! There is nothing quite like a baby sleeping on your shoulder!

It’s not very often that I have the opportunity to shoot a family with grown children! I usually have family shoots with young families with one or two children, and I am doing lots of song and dance to get the children to interact. Well, that was not the case with this family which was a nice change of pace! I am about to move into family shoot season (as everyone around here wants Fall family photos), and I am glad that I was able to start the season off with this beautiful family. It got me excited to start preparing for all the other families that I have on the books in the coming weeks. Thanks, Kerrianne and Mike for allowing me to photograph you and your beautiful girls!

WOW. That is about all I can say about this photo shoot. I had no idea going into the shoot that I was doing a shoot for a little gal whose mom and grandma were interested in getting her into modeling. I thought I was just taking some mother/daughter shots so I quickly had to switch gears. This little gal is only 4 1/2 years old and she was a-ma-zing. She loved being in front of the camera, she loved changing her clothes, and she loved striking a pose here and there! She hasn’t done any modeling before, but she was a total natural, and I think the modeling agents won’t be able to help but jump all over this opportunity. I mean really ~ have you ever seen such gorgeous hair? and gorgeous eyes? and gorgeous skin coloring? And on top of all that – she was absolutely delightful! I can’t believe how well she was able to hang in there – my four-year-old would never have made it. I would have had to have had some serious bribery going on! I absolutely can not wait to see what is in store for this girl, and I hope that one day I can say, “Hey, I photographed her!” Good Luck Liana! If I was an agent, I would snatch you right up!

Dustin + Dani get hitched

I absolutely can not believe that I agreed to shoot a wedding! I have adamantly been saying for years that I was just NOT going to do it. I seriously don’t feel like I have the time or energy that I would need to devote to it so therefore it is easier for me to just turn them all down. This wedding was pretty low key and it was for a brother of a good friend of mine so I agreed to go for it! I am only posting my favorite shot of the day because I don’t really want to advertise that I shoot weddings! I must admit that I did have a ton of fun, and given the perfect circumstance (like this one), I just might do it again!

Anyway, Congratulations Dustin & Dani! I wish for you a long life of laughter together!

I seriously think I could shoot senior girls ALL the time! They are so fun, so inspiring, and so delightful to be around! Thanks Melanie and Taylor for choosing me to photograph you at such a special time in your lives! I hope you have an incredible senior year, Taylor! Congratulations!

Photographing senior boys is generally the exact opposite of photographing senior girls. They can usually think of 10,000 other things that they would rather be doing. They are looking at their watches the whole session, giving their moms a hard time about having the photos taken, and just not quite as into the whole experience as the girls are. I must say though that even though this guy didn’t really want to be getting his photos taken, he didn’t let me know in the slightest bit. He didn’t reference his watch at all ~ which might in fact have been because he wasn’t wearing one, but that’s beside the point! He was very open to whatever I suggested, and once we started taking photos of him and his car….. well, let’s just say he sorta came to life. There was a sparkle in his eye and his whole demeanor changed! I think it probably had to do with car and the fact that he got to be photographed in his “i love boobies” shirt!

No….. Seriously! Scroll down and see for yourself! The epitome of a senior boy – a boy, his car, and his boobie shirt. Life is good! : )

I think I say it every year, but I’m gonna say it again, “I LOVE senior girls”! What is not to love about them? They bring a ton of great clothes and accessories, they want to be in front of the camera, and they are usually open to trying anything! Well, this gal was no exception, and she was absolutely beautiful! Thanks, Brigid for being such great fun. You rocked your senior session!

I hope you have a fantastic senior year!

I can’t believe how stinkin’ cute this little gal was! She had the biggest brown eyes and the most amazing, infectious smile! I could have photographed her for hours and hours, but considering she just turned one, that probably wouldn’t have been the best idea. She was such a trooper and only had one brief episode of “it’s-my-birthday-and-I’ll-cry-if-I want-to” (and you can see that cute, cute image at the end of this post!)

Happy Birthday Jaelyn! I hope you have a wonderful, fun year!

It isn’t every day that I get to photograph a beautiful ballerina so, naturally, I jumped at the chance. I had so much fun learning a few of the positions, and was just mesmerized at the gracefulness and beauty that poured out of Chelsea as she danced across my studio floor. Here are a few of my favorite images from the shoot…..
